Song Name:Were Born For The Sea
do you ever get the feeling that you don't fit in?
do you ever get the feeling that you just can't win?
and i'm always thinking that i'm not quite free, it pisses me
off, yeah it makes me angry.
the coppers and the men in suits they just get me down,
they make me want to take the plunge they make me want to drown,
but even if i did, well who would care?
because this existence is just a nightmare.
well my dad never taught me to swim,
and for that yes i thank him,
cause this society is all win win win,
i'd rather just go to the tyne,
dip my toes in the water below,
and then i'll jump right in.
so out i'd float into the north sea.
make my way past holland into germany.
and there i'd get washed up on a bay, but don't you worry it'll
be ok because some old couple will come and see, and shout 'oh
dear, is that a body?'.
so i'd get in the papers for a little while, but then they'd
lose interest and just put me on a pile. but no, i couldn't stay
there long, i've got to keep moving, moving on.
on my belly i will slither, and find my way into the nearest
river.
because my dad never taught me to swim,
and for that yes i thank him,
cause this society is all win win win,
i'd rather just go to the tyne,
dip my toes in the water below,
and then i'll jump right in.
so i kept on floating, i was never done.
heading my way into the setting sun.
but then well i couldn't believe my eyes - floating right there
between the sea and the skies, well i thought i was alone, i
thought it was just me, but then i saw thousands of other
bodies.
cause we're the ones who didn't make it through, we didn't like
work and we hated school.
we never wore a suit, we never wore a tie, we never conformed,
we always asked why.
so we just keep moving, singing this song, holding hands and
floating on and on and on.
because our dads never taught us to swim,
and for that yes we thank them,
cause this society is all win win win,
we'd rather just go to the tyne,
dip our toes in the water below,
and then we'll jump right in.
